Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between engineered stone and natural stone slabs?

Engineered stone slabs are manufactured using crushed stone and resins to create consistent colour and performance.

Natural stone slabs are cut directly from quarried stone and feature unique veining and variation.

Engineered options are made for consistency and reliability, while natural stone shows natural variation and character from slab to slab.

  • How are stone slabs cut and fabricated?

Stone slabs are cut using specialised machinery to achieve precise measurements and clean edges.

Fabrication includes cutting, polishing, edge profiling and creating cut-outs for sinks or fixtures. Accurate templating ensures the final slab fits correctly. Skilled fabrication helps maintain structural integrity and the intended visual outcome.

  • Are stone slabs heat resistant?

Stone slabs generally offer good heat resistance, but extreme or prolonged heat exposure can cause damage. Placing hot cookware directly on the surface is not recommended. Using trivets or heat pads helps protect the slab and maintain its finish, particularly in kitchen and commercial food preparation environments.
